People First
National Democratic Congress (NDC)/Congres National pour la Democratie(CND) is a coalition of Rally for Unity and Democracy (RUD-Urunana) and Rally of the Rwandan People (RPR-Inkeragutabara). It is open to other political parties who share the same ideals of democracy, justice, equitable society that respect the basic human rights for all Rwandans and residents of Rwanda, without distinction. NDC strives to change Rwanda, into a progressive nation that respects its neighbors and is well integrated in the region; politically, diplomatically and economically.

NDC Fundamental Goals and PrinciplesOPJDR Youth Summit of September 3, 2000. Speech by Felicien Kanyamibwa, PhD. OPJDR Coordinator
This week, in the series to answer questions regarding National Democratic Congress (NDC), I would like to reply to those who asked how RUD-Urunana and RPR-Inkeragutabara have remained united and resisted all the seemingly insurmountable challenges over the years.
When I was thinking about an answer to this question, a thought came to mind: how small nations beat the odds and reach greatness.
The contentious relations between the different components of the Rwandan society and nation, especially the conflict of power between the Hutu and the Tutsi, on the one hand, and within these groups, on the other, have created and crystallized the ethnic and regional identities to the detriment of national identity and unity.

The instability in the Great Lakes region of Africa constitutes not only a moral problem, but also a World security problem. The political situation inside Rwanda and its enduring consequence, the problem of Rwanda refugees, are at the heart of the instability. Resolving the problem of Rwandan refugees is the key to stabilizing the region.
